About Us
Growing Chilliwack
We are a team of six registered midwives who have been providing quality prenatal, labour and birth and postpartum care in this community since 2014. The Midwives function under an alternative practice arrangement through the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives allowing us to provide more care to families in Chilliwack, locally and safely.

Our Story
The Midwives emerged from the union of Chilliwack Midwifery and Grow Midwifery, initially addressing community needs and evolving into a larger mission. Both practices had previously turned away clients due to their limited capacity, yet the demand for midwifery care continued to grow.
When Chilliwack Hospital faced potential closures, The Midwives stepped up to support the unit, undergoing additional training to assist in cesarean sections and collaborate with doctors. We recognized that small individual practices could jeopardize the sustainability of midwifery in Chilliwack, and it was essential to expand our reach. Our commitment lies in working together to provide informed, hands-on, and highly skilled midwifery care to families in Chilliwack and surrounding communities.
